Testimonials

I first met Sally Ling when she spoke about her book “Who Killed Leno and Louise?” This book was based in Boca Raton, where I have lived for 25 years. I was very impressed with her entire presentation, especially her deep knowledge of Florida. Afterwards, I suggested she would be an ideal guest speaker for the Boca Raton Garden Club given her familiarity with our state and the environmental issues facing us. Our members are particularly interested in hearing about  horticulture, our waterways, and land preservation, among many other topics.

Sally’s topic was “From Muck to Murder.” She spoke beautifully about everything and included details about a murder mystery in the Lake Okeechobee area, using the landscape and demographics as part of the story. Our members enjoyed hearing and meeting Sally immensely. She is a very gifted writer and speaker who is able to take dense subject matter and make it interesting conversation points for any audience.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the IBMSFQCCAA membership, I want to extend thanks and appreciation for both of your presentations to our group during 2016 at Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton, FL. Attendees became fascinated by the “Boca murder mystery” narrative.  We liked it so much we went back for more with the Al Capone in S. FL book . . . The attendees appreciated your information, delivery and motivation for your research.

We all hope you enjoyed meeting the group and want to thank you once again for sharing your experience and information with the IBM group, www.IBMSFQCCAA.org

Sally Ling has presented to our annual Yacht Club Cruise Luncheon Group (60-70 attendees, mostly active seniors) on 2 successive occasions, once in 2015, and because of the favourable reception, again in 2016. Her Topics were (1) “Small Town:Big Secrets,” a historical perspective of the secret operations at the Boca Raton Airfield during WWII, and (2) “Al Capone’s Miami: Paradise or Purgatory.” The presentations were extremely interesting and relevant to our group, mostly residents of Boca Raton. Sally’s style is very enjoyable and captivating. We would highly recommend her as a Speaker for similar functions.

Thank you so much for your fascinating presentation as our Club luncheon speaker on “Who Killed Leno and Louise.” We were so impressed by your detective skills in pursuing this most intriguing case that terrorized Boca Raton years ago and remains an unsolved cold case.  We were all fascinated listening to the different suspects, both in the USA and Italy, and the various motives.  It was like an Agatha Christie story as we tried to guess who really did it. We look forward to a return presentation on another one of your intriguing stories.
