“I keep having this reoccurring vision. My brother is walking along a boardwalk winding through a Florida hammock. Seeping through the foliage is an ethereal light that illuminates his silhouette. He’s walking toward it as though headed into eternity. The only problem is he’s faded, transparent, and I can only see a portion of him as though he’s part here, part in the next life. In essence, he’s half gone.”—Pauline Kincaid
Official police reports cite Paul Kincaid’s death as suicide, but his twin sister, Pauline, thinks otherwise. She’s hired the newly formed team of Brooks and Romero to investigate. When they discover missing reports, problematic crime scene practices, and dubious witnesses, they want authorities to take a second look.
Unfortunately, their search for truth has landed them directly in someone’s crosshairs. Despite the danger, Brooks and Romero are determined to reopen the twenty-year-old case others are convinced should remain closed.
Now, they must find out if Paul’s death was truly a suicide or if he was murdered—before Pauline takes her final breath.
